Hospitality Design (HD) magazine announces the 2015 recipients of its prestigious Platinum Circle Award. Honoring a select group of history makers who have changed the field of hospitality design, the Platinum Circle Awards Gala will take place on November 10th at the Conrad hotel in New York. This year’s honorees are Gary Dollens, the global head of design/product and brand development at Hyatt Hotels, who is responsible for the design execution for all Hyatt brands worldwide; Kemper Hyers, senior vice president of design at Starwood Capital Group, who recently opened two new brands, the 1 Hotel Central Park and South Beach, and Baccarat New York; and chef and hotelier Nobu Matsuhisa, co-founder of Nobu Hospitality and the acclaimed proprietor of the Nobu, Matsuhisa, and Ubon restaurants and now Nobu hotels in Las Vegas and Manila with more to come in Miami, Riyadh, Chicago, and Bahrain.
The evening will also include a special dedication to the 50th anniversary of HBA, the global architecture and design firm founded by Howard Hirsch and Michael Bedner. Designing luxurious hotels and resorts around the world for the likes of JW, Ritz-Carlton, Park Hyatt, Four Seasons, St Regis, and many others, HD will honor the impact the group has made in the industry with its HD Visionary Award.
Now in its 27th year, Platinum Circle celebrates hospitality architects, designers, owner-operators, and purchasers for their career-long achievements. Past recipients include Adam Tihany, Alexandra Champalimaud, Andrée Putman, Isadore Sharp, Jean-Michel Gathy, Adrian Zecha, David Rockwell, and nearly 100 more.
