WATG CEO Mike Seyle has announced plans to step down from his role, effective April 30th. Seyle has accepted a new role in in New York. He will continue to serve as CEO and a member of the WATG Board of Directors until a successor has been named. The board has appointed a CEO selection committee to spearhead a search both internally and externally for candidates.
Seyle was named CEO in 2008 after serving as general counsel for the firm since 2004. During his tenure, the firm launched Wimberly Interiors in 2011, transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust in 2014, and built an urban design team with offices in Seattle and Chicago in 2015.
“I am extremely proud of what our team has accomplished over the last 12 years,” says Seyle. “It’s been an honor to work for a firm with such an extraordinary 71-year heritage and with so many incredibly talented design professionals. I look forward to supporting this transition as we continue executing on our strategic priorities through 2017.”
“We thank Mike for guiding WATG through a critical period of transition as CEO,” vice chair Muriel Muirden says. “Under his leadership, WATG has successfully executed against our strategic priorities, expanded our design services, and built a trust model to ensure the firm’s longevity for years to come.”
