Dallas-based Wilson Associates has announced new leadership changes with the appointment of Hussain Kamal as managing director in the Dallas office and Amy Jakubowski as managing director and design director for the Los Angeles office.
Kamal joined Wilson in 2004 as a senior designer in Dallas, and has led the Los Angeles office for three years as senior vice president and managing director. Kamal has contributed to international landmark projects such as the Venetian Macau and Abu Dhabi’s Presidential Palace. He earned his bachelor of architecture degree from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a mater of architecture degree in urban design from University of Oklahoma.
“Hussain’s role is critical to our global succession plan, and his passion for design, acute attention to detail, and leadership have enabled him to achieve remarkable success,” says Wilson Associates president and CEO Olivier Chavy. “He knows how to manage creative talent across multiple continents and cultures, and we look forward to him inspiring and promoting the varied talents of our staff.”
With more than 25 years as a design professional, Jakubowski has most recently served as partner and managing director for Puccini Group’s five hospitality design studios. She also worked as a partner and design partner for BBGM.
A licensed interior designer, Jakubowski earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, and has completed projects for major hotel brands including Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Kimpton, and IHG.
“Amy’s adaptable skills provide a fundamental understanding of process and prioritization, allowing design to have a firm foundation for success,” says Cheryl Neumann, COO of Wilson Associates. “She is a collaborator, mentor and leader who will deliver exceptional design solutions for our clients.”
