Wyndham Hotel Group has announced its acquisition of Latin American hospitality brand Fën Hotels. The deal adds 26 management contracts to Wyndham’s portfolio across Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and the U.S. Two forthcoming Fën-built Wyndham Grand properties are slated to open in Uruguay and Paraguay late this year and early next. Fën maintains 22 existing hotels in six countries and a strong pipeline throughout Latin America. The agreement establishes a combined portfolio of 18 brands and 188 hotels in 19 countries in the region, joining Wyndham’s nearly 8,000 properties around the world.
“Over the last 14 years, Fën Hotels’ dedicated and trailblazing leadership team has introduced a diversified and iconic portfolio with celebrated brands embraced by guests across Latin America,” says Paulo Pena, president and managing director for Wyndham in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Wyndham Hotel Group’s strength and significant scale as the company with more hotels globally than any other hotel company—dramatically increases our distribution, immediately enabling us to grow faster not only in Argentina, but also throughout the region ensuring more guests experience what Fën Hotels have to offer,” adds Fën Hotels CEO and co-founder Patricio Fuks.
The companies will pursue integration over the next 18 months, and each hotel is expected to be bookable under Wyndham Rewards by the end of 2017.
