Wyndham Hotel Group is expanding its Latin America and Caribbean portfolio, and recently reported a record 15 percent growth in rooms for the second quarter of the year when compared to the same timeframe last year.
With more than 146 properties currently in the region, the new growth is based on the hotel group’s addition of 11 properties between this April and June including Mexico’s first TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Mexico City; the newly built Ramada Hotel & Suites Campos dos Goytacazes and Super 8 Caxias do Sul in Brazil; Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima in Peru; and Wyndham Garden Barranquilla in Colombia, which debuted in June.
By the second quarter’s closing, Wyndham Hotel Group had a pipeline of more than 114 hotels, with highlights such as Wyndham Quito Grand Condor in Ecuador, TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde in Puerto Rico, Howard Johnson Neuquen in Argentina, and Ramada Encore in San Luis Potosí in Mexico—all expected to open this year.
