Houston-based Ziegler Cooper Architects (ZCA) acquired Hall Barnum Lucchesi (HBL) Architects, also based in Houston. Newly branded as ZCA+HBL, the partnership will provide clients with expanded benefits and resources.
“The acquisition of HBL Architects is an exciting step for both of our firms and will allow the combined talents and resources of ZCA + HBL to better serve our clients in the design of worship, educational, and community facilities,” says Scott Ziegler, founding principal of ZCA, which was established in 1977.
Founded in 1966, HBL Architects specializes in civic, commercial, corporate, institutional, municipal, educational, religious, and residential projects. Services include campus master planning, build work, and interior design.
“As we work to help shape the growing city of Houston and larger region surrounding us, I am very excited about the merger of HBL Architects and ZCA,” says Steve Lucchesi, vice president of HBL Architects. “Through seasoned leadership and this blending of forces, we will deliver our current and future clients inspiring designs and sound technical expertise to ensure the success of many more landmark worship, educational, and community projects.”
Following the merger, ZCA has appointed Lucchesi as principal-in-charge of the worship, education, and community studio. Lucchesi has worked in design, construction documentation, and construction administration for more than 27 years.
