The opening of the 20th annual Serpentine Pavilion has been postponed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Designed by South African architecture studio Counterspace, the pavilion at London’s Kensington Gardens will now open summer 2021. Led by an all-female team, the Johannesburg-based practice conceived a sustainable installation that will be constructed from K-Briq modules, as well as cork composed of 90-percent recycled construction and demolition waste.
The installation is now slated to open June 11th, 2021 and remain open to the public through October 11th, 2021.
