G6 Hospitality, known for its economy lodging brands Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada, has broken ground on its property located in Salamanca, Guanajuato. This will be the first Estudio 6 property in Mexico.
“Salamanca and its surroundings are growing exponentially, as evidenced by the accelerated industrial and commercial development of the region,” says Jim Amorosia, CEO and president of G6 Hospitality. “Our Estudio 6 hotel will offer the best price-value option for workforce travelers and visitors looking for extended-stay lodging in the area.”
The new seven-story building will consist of 78 rooms featuring elements of the company’s Phoenix design. Once completed, the new Estudio 6 will be the only hotel in the area to offer suite-type rooms with fully equipped kitchenettes, microwave, refrigerator, cable TV, internet, and parking.Â
The projected opening date for the hotel is fourth quarter of 2015. In 2014, G6 Hospitality signed an area development agreement with Latina Promohoteles, a subsidiary of Promodesa Comercial, to develop up to 55 properties by 2020 in Mexico under the brands Hotel 6 and Estudio 6.
