Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton has signed for a new hotel in Hawaii—the last U.S. state without a Hampton hotel to date.
The 175-key Hampton Inn & Suites hotel is being developed by DeBartolo Development and is part of a new development called Ka Makana Ali’i – The Center for West O’ahu, a mixed-use gathering place. Ka Makana Ali’i will feature a regional shopping center with more than 150 new shops and restaurants, a cinema, and LEED-certified office space.
“Hawaii has been a part of Hilton Worldwide’s history since the 1960s with the opening of the first Hilton Hawaiian Village tower,” says Bill Fortier, Hilton’s senior vice president of development for the Americas. “As one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations, it is only fitting to expand Hampton Hotels to Hawaii, bringing a successful mid-priced product to the market.”
Phase one of the Ka Makana Ali’i is expected to open in 2016, with the hotel breaking ground mid-2015.
