Hard Rock Hotels announced its first foray into the South American market with three new projects in Brazil. The Hard Rock Hotel Brasilia, the Hard Rock Hotel Caldas Novas, and the Hard Rock Hotel Itapema expect to cater both to international travelers and the local population, with a recent survey showing that more than 77 percent of Brazilians take their vacations domestically.
“Brazilians have always been great fans of the Hard Rock brand and we could not be more excited to announce Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos entrance into the country, whose famed lively culture is in tune with our brand,” says Marco Roca, executive vice president of global hotel development at Hard Rock International.
The first hotel to open will be the new-build Hard Rock Hotel Brasilia. Located near the Brasilia Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, the 400-room hotel features a sprawling pool, 17,000 square feet of event space, a signature restaurant and rooftop entertainment lounge, and a spa and fitness center. It is developed in partnership with VCI Holding.
Hard Rock Hotel Caldas Novas is located within Brazil’s state capital of Goiás in what is considered the largest hydrothermal resort in the world. The 12-story property features 303 guestrooms, six thermal pools, three restaurants, and a nightclub.
Located off the azure waters of southern Brazil, the Hard Rock Hotel Itapema is a conversion of the former Plaza Itapema Resort & Spa. Consisting of 175 guestrooms, the hotel offers beachfront views and curated live music events, and is scheduled to open in 2017.
Each of the three Brazilian properties will feature signature Hard Rock music-themed services including the Rock Spa, the Rock Shop, Body Rock workout facilities, and the Sound of Your Stay amenity program.
The brand currently has venues in 68 countries, including 162 cafes, 23 hotels, and 11 casinos.
