In collaboration with property developer Toby Moskovits, Evan Altman and James Stuart will debut the Williamsburg Hotel, a new Heritage Equity Partners development.
“I grew up coming to my family’s business around the corner from where our hotel stands,” says Moskovits, who is CEO of Heritage Equity Partners. “It’s important to everyone on this project that we not only embrace the history of Williamsburg but show the neighborhood and our guests a good time too.”
Positioned in the popular Brooklyn, New York community, the 150-room hotel will feature an industrial chic façade and interior by locally based HWKN and London-based Michaelis Boyd, respectively. Brick, glass, and Corten steel will clad the exterior, to include floor-to-ceiling windows, while the interior’s double-height ceilings will feature natural finishes. Many of the guestrooms will include a private balcony.
“We’re actualizing a hotel in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods on the planet,” says Altman. “We want the Williamsburg Hotel to be part of what makes this neighborhood unlike any other—part of the fabric of the community, but also part of what fuels it.”
The property will feature three bars, one of which will be located in a replica water tower built in reference a nearby historic tower that serves as a landmark to the community. Additional amenities will include a restaurant, rooftop pool, nightclub, and a ballroom able to accommodate up to 400 guests.
Altman and Stuart will oversee all programming and operations of the hotel, which is slated to open late this year.
