As part of the expansion of its Asia Pacific portfolio, Meliá Hotels International will open the Meliá Yangon in Myanmar.
“Meliá Yangon represents a new milestone for our committed growth in the Asia Pacific, and we are eager to bring our most internationally recognized brand, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, to Myanmar thanks to the confidence and support of our partner Hoang Anh Gia Lai Myanmar [HAGL],” says Bernardo Cabot, vice president, Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International. “This hotel will boost our brand awareness within the region, whilst providing the platform in which to expand to other locations within the country.”
To be developed by HAGL, the 400-room, new-build hotel will be easily accessible from Yangon International Airport and located next to Inya Lake in downtown Yangon in a mixed-use complex featuring office buildings, apartments, and a commercial center.
Amenities will include the YHI spa, a variety of F&B options, and a range of meeting facilities.
The company’s Asia Pacific portfolio now includes 24 hotels and more than 6,000 rooms.
