In partnership with Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, Minor Hotel Group (MHG) will develop two new Anantara resorts in North Africa. The 93-room Anantara Tozeur Resort is being developed in Tozeur, Tunisia near the international airport and original Star Wars set. It will feature pool villas, restaurants and bars, meeting and business facilities, kids and teens clubs, a health club, and a spa.
The 230-room Anantara Al Houara Tangier Resort, to be located in Tangier, Morocco, will make up one part of the Qatari Diar-developed Al Houara project. Situated along approximately 1.5 miles of beachfront property, the project will also include a signature 18-hole golf course, golf club and residential homes, restaurants and bars, a spa, wellness center, fitness center, and kids and teens clubs.
“We are excited to announce these two new Anantara resorts in North Africa in partnership with Qatari Diar,” says Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotel Group. “Our Anantara brand is now well established in the Middle East, with six properties in the United Arab Emirates and our first resort in Qatar opened earlier this year, and we are keen to add North Africa to our footprint. We are looking forward to a strong alliance with Qatari Diar going forward, with scope to explore additional opportunities to expand our portfolio in the wider Middle East and North Africa regions.”
Both properties are slated to open in 2017.
