San Francisco-based SB Architects has been tasked with designing a 4-Star winery resort in the foothills of Southern California’s Temecula Valley wine country.
Developed by Standard Portfolio Group and Wave Hospitality, the design of the to-be-named 135-acre property will nod to its surroundings and the history of the area.
“Our goal is to create an immersive destination that places the guest at the center of the winemaking experience,” says Scott Lee, president and principal of SB Architects. “Our vision for the design is a contemporary response to a traditional landscape, with a sense of rugged sophistication that feels completely authentic in this valley.”
The new resort, which will accommodate between 200 to 250 guests, will sit within the vineyards surrounded by several event spaces, a farm-to-table restaurant, a standalone brewery, and a winery that is expected to produce an estimated 50,000 cases per year. Additionally, more than 75 percent of the site will be dedicated to agricultural use, with landscaping by Calabasas-based ValleyCrest Design Group.
It will be the first winery resort developed under the new Riverside County Wine Country Community Plan, which supports development in the region and, centering on the area’s rural lifestyle with an equestrian focus.
The property’s name is slated for reveal early next year.
