Sbe Entertainment Group has announced an impending expansion into Mexico, where it will manage five resort hotels.
Armar Group—a privately held Mexican real estate development and investment company—is slated to build the projects, to include residential units, sbe club membership units, restaurants, and nightclubs.
“We chose sbe from a large group of potential partners because of the company’s track record in providing exciting, high-quality, and innovative experiences for its guests,” says Daniel Araf, chairman and CEO of Armar.
Sam Nazarian, founder of sbe, rejoined the company as chairman and CEO shortly before the deal with the Armar Group, following a sabbatical last month.
“It’s great to be back at work doing what I love—growing the sbe brand and creating value for our partners,” says Nazarian. “Sbe is an important part of my life and our family’s legacy. I’m eager to continue to build this company. We have some great projects in the pipeline and I’m eager to see them through to fruition.”
The first two projects will be located on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas with future properties to follow in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, and Punta Mita. The Cabo San Lucas project, scheduled to open in 2017, will feature a 200-room SLS LUX Hotel with 250 residential/sbe club membership units, while a 150-room SLS LUX Hotel featuring 150 residential/sbe club membership units will follow in 2018.
At present, sbe has 11 projects in the pipeline.
