Los Angeles-based Studio Collective has redesigned the Landsby, a boutique hotel in downtown Solvang, California.
The 41-room boutique hotel will feature a clean, contemporary design with a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic that references the city’s history as a Danish settlement. The project is headed by Studio Collective principals Christian Schulz, Adam Goldstein, and Leslie Kale.
The redesign includes a total reconstruction of the hotel lobby with added lounge spaces and a bar. The hotel’s name translates to “the village” in Danish and aims to encourage both guests and locals to mingle in the new lobby bar and common areas.
The outdoor garden lounge is being revamped with a new color palette but retains much of the hotel’s original wood paneling and ceilings. A new onsite restaurant, Mad & Vin, will serve wine country cuisine by executive chef Seth Nathan.
Upon completion guestrooms, junior suites, and the signature tower suite will feature blonde woods, regionally created art, brushed brass fixtures, and leather accents.
The Landsby is scheduled to reopen this spring.
