Washington, DC-based firm //3877 has completed work on the city’s second Slipstream location. Situated in one of the city’s most rapidly evolving neighborhoods, the 2,170-square-foot, 45-seat café reflects a fusion of modernity and refined details that seamlessly translates between the day and the evenings.
Beloved elements from the original Slipstream’s design are incorporated, including wood-paneled ceilings and copper pendants. Two concise paths guide visitors to the dining room or takeout counter, providing a unique internal flow that sets the coffee and cocktails concept apart from its sister location. The ordering station is crafted from wood, while the pickup counter conveys a stone materiality. The dining room is defined with a handcrafted bar, as well as a tall communal table and illuminated wallcoverings.
