The heart of New York’s West Village is aglow with the new American Bar on Greenwich Avenue. The 70-seat venue comprises a bar, lounge, dining area, and intimate private dining crafted by Melissa Bowers of M.A. Bowers.
Designed in collaboration with cofounder and restaurateur Kyle Hotchkiss Carone, American Bar references international F&B icons like the Paris Bar in Berlin and London institutions like Marks and George. Vibrant artwork from English artists such as Faye Wei Wei, Luke Edward Hall, Michael Lindsay-Hogg, and Clementine Crawford inform the worldly aesthetic, set against soft yellow walls with dentil crown moldings. Hunter green upholstered banquettes are installed along with rattan chairs in the lounge beneath tusk-like light fixtures. The restaurant’s terrazzo bar accommodates 18 seats.
