Oakland, California-based architecture and design firm Arcsine has recently unveiled its latest F&B project: Ramen Hiroshi, a new Japanese concept at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon. Small yet impactful, the space balances a traditional Asian influence with a modern industrial flair.
A sophisticated palette of black and gray hues permeates the interior of the Northern California eatery with notes of red in homage to Japanese culture and tradition. The Noodle Waves at Night mural injects the dining room with radiant color as it depicts an overflowing bowl of ramen in the shape of ocean weaves beneath a starry sky. An L-shaped counter clad with dark gray wainscot tiles adorns a wall of the restaurant, while lighter gray accent tiles recall shou sugi ban, the 18th-century Japanese weatherproofing technique.
