Shay & Ivy, the second dining concept from AYS Hospitality, has arrived in New York’s Flatiron District, adjacent to the boutique Hotel Henri. Spanning 2,400 square feet, the 90-seat eatery features upscale interiors crafted by Los Angeles-based designer Marcello Pozzi.
Complemented by lush greenery and stonework, a white, beige, and gray palette conveys simplicity as well as an airy, cosmopolitan vibe ideal for daytime. Touches of brown from caramel-toned banquettes and natural wood establishes a warmth ideal for transitioning into evening. Antique French mirrors, natural Italian walnut paneling, and historic New York graffiti grace the reclaimed whitewashed barnwood walls, in addition to a large reproduction of René Magritte’s 1945 painting “Alice in Wonderland.” French midcentury-style chairs accent the custom reclaimed oak plank tables, which are clad with raw steel borders.
Attached to the dining room is a 36-seat, 450-square-foot enclosed patio as well as private event space the Garden Room, which features its own bar crafted from concrete and stone.
