San Francisco-based design firm Eight Inc. has unveiled the overhaul of a remote historic site into the Bently Heritage Estate Distillery just beyond the California state line in Minden, Nevada.
The modern and sustainable venue embraces the historic qualities of the two transformed buildings—a former mill and creamery—with preserved façades and the repurposing of existing materials.
The Creamery building has been reconfigured to reflect the life of the whiskey’s ingredients, from farm to bar. The Mill serves as a key fixture of the guest experience. Bars housed across the upper level of the Distillery overlook both the surrounding landscape as well as the single-malt whiskey production process within four retrofitted grain silos.
