The newest Sant Ambroeus Coffee Bar has opened on New York’s Upper East Side, courtesy of Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture. Installed within the ground floor of the Hanley Building, also designed by the locally based firm, the café draws inspiration from the original Sant Ambroeus restaurant, which debuted in Milan in 1936.
Elements like silver travertine floors and walnut wall panels span the interior. Walls are clad with custom fluted red Verona marble tiles crafted in Italy and installed by Italian artisans, and oiled American walnut on the remaining walls evokes the brand’s signature peach-pink color palette. Additonal design details include matte black table legs and a custom leather bench in a rich brown hue.
