Design studio Liqui Group has completed bakery and café concept Bread Lab Bakery in West London. Characterized by a minimalist laboratory-like aesthetic, the space is conceived to showcase the skill and science behind breadmaking, while also infusing the environment with a sense of warmth via inviting wood surfaces and more.
Clean lines and a sparse selection of furnishings are contrasted by a rustic backdrop of artisanal breads on display. In addition to a bespoke communal table equipped with outlets to support coworking located at the heart of the interior, custom elements—from seating to aluminum white and green pendant lights—are made of sustainable materials to demonstrate traditional craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.
“With the unit being a new-build shell, our design team overcame several site-specific problems, including a very complicated ventilation system and needing to raise the concrete floor,” says Oliver Underwood, Liqui Group design manager. “Bread Lab Bakery shows how Liqui has the ability and resources to take an idea from original design right the way through to stunning reality.”
