A taste of Havana has been bestowed upon the boutique hotel concept Studio Allston in Boston thanks to locally based architecture practice Dyer Brown. The newly opened, 74-seat Casa Caña channels the vibrant architecture and landscapes of the Cuban capital.
Details such as decorative Cuban floor tiles, patinaed metals, reclaimed wood, and an abstract tropical mural anchor the bar and dining room for a sense of authenticity. Illuminated by midcentury-style pendant fixtures, the 3,000-square-foot restaurant also features a semiprivate dining room accented with a large-scale botanical mural, while a courtyard provides alfresco seating alongside firepits and twinkle lighting.
