The new dining and nightlife concept Chi has arrived in the Ukranian capital of Kiev as a reincarnation of the former Decadence club. Spread across more than 21,500 square feet, the concept is founded in the Buddhist principles of chi, which represents energy and vitality.
The interior spans three distinctive zones, beginning with the entrance corridor. Guests are welcomed by replicas of the Chinese Terracotta Army before entering the main hall. The bar, dining room, dance floor, and a large terrace overlook a nearby parkland.
The design from Oleg Volosovsky of Loft Buro embraces colonial architecture as well as references to the cultural heritage of Latin America and Indochina. A materiality of concrete, metal, wood, and glass also express loft-like qualities within the space. Handmade stone cladding adorns the interior, depicting the geometric patterns of Indian tribes as well as sculptures and furnishings with oriental textures. Three rounded chandeliers crafted with Venetian crystals provide illumination along with several geometric hanging landing lamps.
