Restauranteur Danny Mayer’s Union Square Hospitality Group has revealed plans to launch the Italian-themed rooftop bar Anchovy Social atop the forthcoming Thompson Washington, DC this winter.
Sliding floor-to-ceiling windows will wrap the polished indoor-outdoor concept, spreading across 8,000 square feet on the hotel’s 12th floor. The new rooftop spot will open in tandem with the Roman-style seafood trattoria Maialino Mare located on the hotel’s ground floor, which will be the hospitality group’s first fine-dining project outside of New York.
