Locally based design firm DC Design has completed its overhaul of a former industrial building in Fuzhou, China into the new Le Temps Pâtisserie. The minimalist design serves as a perfect backdrop for the colorful pastries.
A palette of black, gray, and white characterizes the space, offset only by external mottled walls covered with green ivy leaves. The greenery is visible through the storefront’s large French window, which infuses natural light into the main space. Three boxes comprise the main dining area with individualized colors. The black box is conceived as a spot for tranquility, the white box serves to refresh, and the gray box is designed to promote storytelling. The interior’s original columns are done away with to allow for openness and a modern, clean aesthetic.
