Chefs Hans Välimäki and Arto Rastas have launched Bardem, a new cocktail bar in the heart of Helsinki, Finland, that’s just a stone’s throw away from the pair’s tapas restaurant Penélope.
Designed by locally based studio Fyra, Bardem occupies two stories of a former retail space within the city’s Epicenter building. A large bar anchors the dimly lit space, which brings to mind the laidback flair of a classic speakeasy. The deeply colored interiors combine elements of old and new, and recycled and reupholstered furnishings and curtains add softness and intimacy to the space.
