Indian eatery Cinnamon Bazaar has arrived in London’s Covent Garden, the latest installment in chef Vivek Singh’s Cinnamon Club restaurant collection. Crafted by Hove, UK-based DesignLSM, the 90-seat restaurant channels India’s bustling markets with an eclectic aesthetic. The concept is spread across two floors, including a private dining room on the upper level and a bar and restaurant on the ground level.
The façade is adorned with timber, striking metal signage, and ornate, handpainted columns depicting a distressed tile effect framing the double doors, which are decorated with traditional Indian imagery. At the front of the restaurant a feature bar is done in vibrant green tones and an aged brass gantry, while additional details include intricate wallpaper, Asian crockery displays, and a mixture of relaxed seating options.
Lavish gold, blue, and green tones define the color palette, complementing the main dining room’s handpainted artwork and ornate tiling. The atmosphere is amplified with a dramatic ceiling display of hanging lanterns, greenery, and draped Indian silks, and a bespoke chaat cart—an homage to India’s popular street food snacks—can be wheeled to each table for custom orders. The 30-person private dining room upstairs includes a restored bar replicating the handcrafted entrance, mustard-colored drapery, and wicker ceiling fans.
