Brighton, England-based design firm DesignLSM has overhauled a former Essex pub into its latest collaboration with the Felix Warley brand. The contemporary environment exudes a sense of refined luxury within the semi-rural location of Brentwood, Essex, England.
Traditional shiplap cladding adorns the façade of the new Felix outpost, designed to reflect natural light and instill moody internal shadows. An existing entrance to the restaurant has been relocated and outfitted with a new, double-height atrium that frames a luminous lobby space. A striking chandelier composed of knitted wore orbs also illuminates a sculptural, helical staircase that links both levels. The ground floor is characterized by a calm palette of marine green and blue, while brass netting encloses booths beneath a dark ceiling. Restrooms also evoke drama with floral embossed wallpaper and basins sculpted from dense Brazilian black slate.
The sundrenched upper level is anchored by a copper-clad oval bar, which allows the space to organically transition into an inviting cocktail bar after hours, complemented by rich materials and a dusky sky ceiling.
