Italian design practice Diorama has converted a former grocery store in Molfetta, Italy into Bloom in Town. Appointed with tropical flora, flamingo wallpaper, and neon palm trees, the concept draws inspiration from its coastal location.
The 2,475-square-foot interior of the original stone structure has been restored to host three main rooms, which vary in size, layout, and décor. The main room is anchored by a counter spanning more than 30 feet in length, while a custom black and brass metal bottle display serves as the backdrop. Botanical wallpapers and fabrics also dress the space alongside black and white patterns and bespoke neon luminaries. The second, narrow room is appointed with a bar reminiscent of the alleyways of Cuba, complete with brightly painted walls, worn cobbled floors, and soft lighting. The third space further echoes the spirit of the setting, showing off the interior’s original stone walls as well as traditional vaulted ceilings and curved brass strip lighting.
A selection of brushed brass surfaces infuses warmth into the space, contrasting metal sheets painted in vivid tones as well as rattan furniture and a variety of plants and flowers. In addition to bespoke furniture, Bloom in Town features vintage prints, playful souvenirs, and a variety of mirrors.
