Disruptive Restaurant Group, a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based hospitality brand sbe, has announced plans to expand its renowned Mediterranean restaurant concept Cleo to the Middle East. Fifteen Cleo outposts are in the pipeline for 2017 for a slew of locations in the region including Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The global expansion plan follows Disruptive’s partnership with international franchise operator M.H. Alshaya for the Middle Eastern expansion of the Katsuya concept. Katsuya debuted in Kuwait in 2014 with two locations, and six additional outposts are slated for 2017 in Cairo, Doha, and Dubai.
Disruptive oversees three Cleo eateries in Hollywood, Las Vegas, and South Beach. A fourth standalone restaurant opened this fall in downtown LA, and three more are planned next year in New York, Chicago, and the Bahamas.
