Stuttgart, Germany-based firm Dittel Architekten has completed the new bar concept Eduard’s in the city’s Dorotheen Quarter. Named for the founder of the Breuninger department store, the bar serves as the focal point of the thoroughfare and features a façade of glass and brick.
Copper tones are highlighted by shades of patina and the reflection of light to create an ambient internal glow. Rust-colored shelves accentuate the spirits and handmade, suspended iron lamps. The metal cladding contrasts with the industrial flooring and exposed concrete walls, which are punctuated with dark wood, rustic leather upholstery, and muted green textiles. A lighting installation of delicate, angular rods and bulbs lines the ceiling for a dramatic statement.
In addition to traditional bar seating and side tables, the bar includes an outdoor patio with benches and acoustic panels
