The Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has introduced the Hawthorn Dining Room + Bar as its newest F&B concept. The luxe new eatery blends a modern style with historic elements to inject drama into the lobby.
Locally based firm Frank Architecture spearheaded the renovation, which is the first new F&B venue to join the property in six decades. Harkening back to the site’s past as a central station, the redesign features a 1962 mural from Charles Beil, while the refreshed fireplace serves as the centerpiece of the space. Rich, vintage-inspired details like original archways and the decorative ceiling infuse an ambiance of Old World luxury into the restaurant. Floral wallpaper in restrooms draws inspiration from the floral stands that previously awaited travelers in the building’s past life.
