Beirut-based design studio Gatserelia Design has introduced the new Asian dining concept Ai to Vienna’s Golden Quarter. Conceived with a stylish edginess apt for its fashionable urban surroundings, the 130-seat, 6,460-square-foot restaurant was crafted by firm cofounder Gregory Gatserelia.
Drawing its name from the Japanese word for love, Ai is spread across two floors and features a robata grill, sushi bar, and cocktail lounge. A glass sculpture links both levels to symbolize a fusion of local and Lebanese cultural influences. In addition to plush, modern seating, the interior is appointed with marble, leather, wood, copper, and glass.
