GH Architekten has spearheaded the Sportalm restaurant design, located in Munich Airport’s Terminal 2.
The alpine-themed concept includes seating inside a gondola from a real ski lift, along with a lower-level sports bar and upper-level sun terrace complete with love seats and lounge chairs. The second level is set to open next month, further embracing Sportalm’s aesthetic of Old World coziness.
The Germany-based firm outfitted the airy restaurant with tree trunks, traditional décor pieces, an old barn door, and a stone trough reminiscent of a traditional Upper Bavarian farmhouse.
