Ekies All Senses Resort, located in Vourvourou, a small beach town in Greece’s Halkidiki region, has revealed the redesign of their Treehouse fine dining restaurant. Milan-based agency CTRLZAK Art & Design Studio looked to the local ecosystem for the project, “We took inspiration from the natural wonders surrounding the resort,” firm founder Katia Meneghini says, “from the Mediterranean pine trees to the tiny organisms that are found on the beach.”
Keeping in tradition with the eco-conscious attitude of Ekies, materials used in the refresh were sustainably sourced, with the restaurant’s natural elements warmly juxtaposing the calculated soft whites of Ekies’ simple design amid its destination location next to the Aegean Sea. Floors for Treehouse were rendered from pine wooden planks, while naturally rusted iron was used for the supporting structure that lifts the space into the trees, as well as the railings. Wrapping the canopy, Inox fabric weaved on a loom to create a mesh that changes color depending on the direction of the sun encloses guests in the space.
Treehouse seats just 10 people, with dinner served just once per evening at 9pm, ensuring a unique experience for the guests in attendance at the 69-room hotel.
