Southern Proper Hospitality has unveiled the second location of Atlanta-based restaurant franchise Gypsy Kitchen along a coveted stretch of 14th Street in Washington, DC. New York-based RDStudio Inc. crafted the Pan-Mediterranean eatery to reflect the colors and flavors found in Spanish, Greek, Lebanese, and Moroccan cuisines.
Mediterranean-inspired décor populates the interior, including fabrics and patterns reminiscent of North African cultures. Vibrant tapestry rugs and tiles infuse color and authenticity across Gypsy Kitchen, which is appointed with a medley of high-top, lounge, and traditional dining seating configurations. The design studio also transformed the site’s existing 1,100-square-foot rooftop bar and patio with the same colors and verve as the interior. The outdoor space features walls sheathed in greenery and a retractable awning to support dining throughout the year.
