San Francisco–based firms Walker Warner Architects and Maca Huneeus Design have unveiled their design of the House of Flowers visitor center and tasting room at Flowers Vineyard & Winery. Located in the Healdsburg region of California’s Wine Country, the 13.5-acre estate recently expanded following the purchase of the former VML Winery site. Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects also contributed to the project.
The new facility, which was previously a warehouse, is tucked within a tree grove and crowned with a metal roof. The façade is clad with stained-black redwood, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain the key focal point. New skylights and large windows frame views and reduce energy consumption, while off-white interiors and cypress wall panels contrast the darker exterior. Outside, House of Flowers features an outdoor kitchen and lounge.
