Danish design studio Space Copenhagen has unveiled its newest restaurant concept, Le Pristine, in Antwerp, Belgium. The new eatery from Dutch chef Sergio Herman occupies the ground floor of a 1960s modernist structure, as well as the courtyard of a 17th-century baroque mansion.
Spread across nearly 4,800 square feet, Le Pristine is outfitted with an inviting collage of historic references to the city’s vernacular, in addition to a range of contemporary elements. Antwerp’s rich cultural and artistic roots are also evoked through a palette of subdued rusty red, milky black, sand, and gray tones. Belgian stone-patterned floors and smoked oak joinery contrast the interior’s steel beams and concrete details, while a translucent bar infuses a dose of bright pink into the space beneath an illuminated artwork suspended from the ceiling.
