Carneros, California winery Liana Estates is planning to celebrate its soft opening near the end of this summer with an official grand opening slated for early this fall. The experience-focused location is spearheaded by sisters Lisa and Ariana Peju, whose family launched the renowned Peju Province Winery, also in Napa Valley.
The design from Sonoma, California-based Lauren Pique Designs reinforces the industrial and natural qualities of the Napa Valley and San Pablo Bay setting, capturing the outdoor ambiance within the modern interior by incorporating elements of air, sea, and land throughout the space. The first-level tasting room flanks the production area and offers guests views into the winemaking process. Rustic metal bar carts and bistro tables, a leather banquette, large concrete tiles, blown glass fixtures, and reclaimed wood walls bring the natural outside world in.
The motif carries on through the second and third floors, which revel in views of the San Pablo Bay. The Wine Club Lounge, the second floor’s private tasting room, is equipped with a comfortable porch as well as a fireplace, modular furniture, and wood-treated walls. Concrete and metal details along with a succulent wall are also featured in the third-floor loft, which serves small bites via a built-in dumbwaiter connected to the kitchen onto a custom live-edge table crafted from fallen trees on the Peju family’s property.
