Shanghai-based design firm Lukstudio—founded by 2016 Wave of the Future honoree Christina Luk—has unveiled a new café concept in the Sanlitun section of Beijing. The F&B venue serves as an outpost for yogurt brand LePur, with wooden seating and tables installed in the rear of the building, a contrast to the street-facing exterior.
The minimalist design is conceived as a contrast to the bustling urban surroundings. Mirrors are installed to exaggerate light across the interior, and the interplay of light and shadow informs how customers navigate the interior. Gray terrazzo forms counter spaces and service booths, while white terrazzo floors permeate the café.
