Design studio Yabu Pushelberg was enlisted by French fine winery Moët & Chandon—part of luxury goods company LVMH—to weave a visual tapestry of heritage and celebration for its new bar nestled within Berlin’s iconic KaDeWe department store.
The design of Moët & Chandon Bar Berlin tells the story of the centuries-old champagne house, while articulating its transition into the next chapter of its legacy.
Yabu Pushelberg established craftsmanship—with nuances, quality, and detail—as the design narrative’s north star, which seamlessly metamorphosed into emotions intrinsically tied with Moët & Chandon: desire, intimacy, and celebration.
The space is defined by soft, curvaceous architectural elements and intimate seating nooks awash in cream tones, with a private area cloaked in a sensual red palette. Circular tables and plush upholstered chairs complement the bar’s graceful shape, and rounded out by sophisticated cove lighting that adds a layer of elegance.
Challenging the convention that champagne is reserved solely for special occasions, Moët & Chandon Bar Berlin was envisioned as a haven to celebrate life’s moments both big and small. The result is a wine bar that not only embodies the brand’s formality, but also the unrestrained spirit of champagne, creating a visually fluid space that mirrors the soul of Berlin.
“To design for Moët & Chandon is to understand that craftsmanship remains the living soul of the champagne house,” says Yabu Pushelberg founders George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg. “We are honored to continue our relationship with LVMH and to be entrusted with the challenge of shaping the visual expression of a Moët & Chandon experience.”
