Momentum KC Signature Lounge is gearing up to launch atop the Cascade Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio by Marriott in Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza. Located on the hotel’s 10th floor, the semi-private social club and rooftop bar offers panoramic views across the Plaza and downtown skyline.
Designed by DLR Group, Momentum KC draws from the traditions of members-only social clubs with fluid forms, layered materials, and carefully choreographed lighting to create a setting that feels immersive without being insular.
“Momentum introduces a fresh, elevated environment for sparking ideas where currency is connection,” says Valentina Castellon, principal and hospitality interior design leader at DLR Group. “Our team wanted to create a memorable experience that was truly unique to Kansas City,”
Luxe details define Momentum KC
The arrival sequence opens into a dramatic main lounge anchored by a sculptural bar with a sweeping form that recalls bird wings in motion. Soft, diffused lighting enhances the bar’s curves, while marble, metallic finishes, and lush greenery form a refined material palette. Deep emerald velvet wraps seating and wall surfaces throughout, creating an intimate, color-saturated interior.
At the center of the lounge sits a three-sided fireplace clad in sage marble. The stone’s subtle movement contrasts with rustic wood plank flooring underfoot, which grounds the space and tempers the richness of the finishes. Overhead, a bronze ceiling installation with branching forms and integrated botanical elements spans the room.
Adjacent to the bar, a bottle-keep wall features metallic lockers that allow members to store personal spirits between visits.
A private dining room, meanwhile, extends from the main lounge and is screened by brass detailing and velvet drapery, providing a secluded setting for gatherings.
