New York-based design practice nemaworkshop has completed the design of the newest destination for Southern eating in New Orleans. Located in Audubon section of the city, Picnic Provisions & Whiskey has debuted in homage to the slow days of summertime with colorful touches like a retro jukebox and neon signage that reads “You Make Me So Happy.”
Like an indoor picnic space, the interior is populated with edge-wood slab tables accented with plaid cushioned seats which are illuminated beneath the suspended wicker pendants. A bayou-inspired mural adorns the rear wall, while traditional picnic blanket motifs further infuse a sense of the outdoors. An open kitchen anchors the dining room along with a bar detailed with a steel counter accompanied with woven blue barstools and cubbies that showcase cozy picnic baskets.
