Parisian firm Lina Ghotmeh – Architecture has completed the new Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The 5,950-square-foot restaurant spans more than 170 seats with a terrace positioned to maximize views of the Eiffel Tower.
The eatery’s ceiling is contextualized with more than 300 suspended lights encircled with black metal. Just beyond the entrance, a coffeehouse-theater hybrid area features staggered bleacher seating made from recycled plastics and marbles that are easily reconfigurable. Crafted from natural and sustainable material, the nearly 60-foot-long bar is a central focal point of the design, while a nearby cozy space is outfitted with custom wooden alcove banquettes, tables, and chairs.
The intimate Glass House space boasts a curvilinear table for 20 that is inspired by nature with a body reminiscent of a water droplet. Designed for up to 200 people, the terrace features custom furnishings oriented around a concrete bar also accented with chairs made from recycled plastics in subtle hints of red and green.
