The Prisoner Wine Company is set to unveil its first tasting room in early November in Napa Valley, California. San Francisco-based architect Matt Hollis will design the forthcoming Tasting Lounge and the Makery with locally based interior designer Richard von Saal.
Four studios will be housed across the private tasting space, all of which will showcase crafts and products from local artisans. The contemporary building will be outfitted with a vaulted ceiling and a sprawling skylight that floods the Makery with natural light. An open kitchen will anchor the interior, which will be wrapped with reclaimed wood sourced from the original Bay Bridge and illuminated beneath a diesel tank revamped into a chandelier.
