Virginia’s Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has tapped San Francisco-based Puccini Group to revamp the F&B experience at nine different venues in the historic city. The makeovers are slated to begin next year.
The Williamsburg Inn and the Williamsburg Lodge are among the properties scheduled for updates. Puccini Group will infuse the restaurants at both hotels with distinctly Colonial American qualities. The Inn’s dining room will be reinterpreted with a nouveau British sensibility, emphasizing grandeur and sophistication, while the Lodge’s lounge and restaurant will be reminiscent of a traditional Southern colonial estate. The Williamsburg Inn recently reopened following an extensive renovation, and the Williamsburg Lodge will join Marriott’s Autograph Collection beginning in January.
“We are drawing our inspiration from the rich history and Nouveau British style at the height of Williamsburg’s founding,” says Puccini Group partner and CCO Rob Polacek. “We are excited to be a part of the team that is continuing the vision of Rockefeller in preserving the historic story of Williamsburg while delivering a design that is expected of today’s guest.
“It is a great honor and a privilege to be chosen as partners by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation—a group that’s renowned for its remarkable educational significance, and its dedication to preserving our country’s history for generations to come,” adds partner and COO Shelia Turner. “Our overall strategic direction will span the areas of concepts, design, F&B operations, marketing, and branding. In partnership with the foundation, we intend to create an environment in which culinary excellence will be inherent to the Colonial Williamsburg experience.”
