Rafael de Cárdenas, founder of the New York-based firm Architecture at Large, has completed the design for the new Broadway Bar located at the Nordstrom’s recently debuted New York flagship.
Stretching across the third and fourth floors of the upscale department store, the bar concept heralds its guests with a sculpture by artist Kendall Buster, while natural light is infused into the loft-like venue through the expansive windows and sheer metallic fabric.
The sleek and luxurious destination is also populated with the firm’s maiden lounge chair design, in tandem with notes of gold, and bespoke teardrop tables clad with square anodized aluminum tiles within veneered sycamore. Anchoring the posh spot is its namesake bar topped with an elegant antique brown granite, gently grading into increasing intimacy.
