Designed by hOmE, Rebelle on the Bowery has opened in New York via a partnership between Branden McRill, Patrick Cappiello, and Alessandro Zampedri, of Pearl & Ash, and executive chef Daniel Eddy, formerly of Spring in Paris, and Andrea Venturelli.
Serving a menu of seasonally inspired French dishes made with market fresh ingredients and a wine focus, the 90-seat restaurant features a design inspired by Robert Polidori photography, and the Post-Impressionist French painter Édouard Vuillard.
Walls are clad in exposed brick to complement the dark wood and stained concrete floors. A vintage glass and steel window fitted with midnight blue linen and velvet curtains divides the space in two. Dual skylights were built into the 12-foot ceilings to provide natural light to the open kitchen, which features an 8-seat marble chef’s counter with additional seating. The dining room is equipped with charcoal grey banquettes along the walls, and oak tables with inlay work. Brushed steel and glass pendant lights are suspended throughout. The 9-seat bar features ivory marble with lilac and gold veining, mauve bar seats, a seating area with standing and standard tables, and a wine program curated by Patrick Cappiello.
